A CULTURAL DESIGN EXPERIENCE BY COMPLEX FLAVORS HOME + LIFE

Design as Inheritance is the belief that how we shape space becomes what we pass forward. It understands home not as decoration, but as intention, where culture, standards, and ways of living are carried through design. Every choice becomes part of what continues.

BLK HAUS Party is the expression of that belief. A three-part cultural design experience examining the Black home as a site of authorship, creativity, and care, how we live, gather, and shape space on our own terms.

For generations, Black domestic spaces held innovation and intelligence long before they were recognized as design. BLK HAUS Party exists to reclaim the home as cultural infrastructure, elevating Black makers, designers, and ways of living through considered experiences where design, commerce, and storytelling converge.

This is not simply an event. It is a platform, where culture is spatial, design is intentional, and home is understood as power.

Why BLK HAUS Party Matters

The Black home has always been a place of innovation, resilience, and imagination. BLK HAUS Party creates space to recognize that truth, while opening doors for contemporary Black designers, makers, and cultural leaders to be seen, supported, and celebrated.

Rooted in Kansas City and influenced by both Midwest and Chicago design culture, BLK HAUS Party strengthens the local creative economy while contributing to a broader national conversation around design, identity, and belonging.
