THE JOURNEY OF CRAFTING A LEGACY
MY STORY:
Hi, I’m Keisha Jordan, the founder and CEO of Complex Flavors Home + Life. I started this brand in 2019 as a personal tribute to perseverance, creativity, and cultural legacy. Originally from Chicago and now rooted in Kansas City, I’ve always believed that design should do more than look good, it should tell a story, honor identity, and create space for connection.
With over 20 years of experience as a corporate creative director and art curator, my work lives at the intersection of storytelling, community, and bold interior design. I'm deeply inspired by the richness of cultural identity and the unique ways we all experience the world, especially through a neurodivergent lens. Through wallpaper, textiles, and home décor, I create sensory-rich pieces that reflect beauty, resilience, and the vibrant, layered complexity of culture. My goal is always to design spaces that don’t just look good, but feel meaningful, inclusive, and alive.
As a multidisciplinary artist and creative leader, I’ve contributed to public art initiatives and national design campaigns, and I serve on advisory committees and creative boards that champion artistic innovation and inclusion. My goal has always been to use creativity as a vehicle for transformation and representation.
Over the past few years, I’ve had the honor of working on projects that carry deep cultural significance. From designing “2 Pairs”—a wallpaper pattern for Issa Rae's South LA home—to creating a custom design for Big Boi's Dungeon Family House during Black Music Month, I’ve been blessed to bring visual storytelling into spaces that matter.
As a 20+ year lupus survivor and a volunteer with the Heartland Region Lupus Council, I’m passionate about using my platform to raise awareness, build community, and advocate through creative expression. My award-winning documentary, The Lupus Diaries: Wolves + Butterflies, has been featured in film festivals across the country and offers an honest look into life with chronic illness.
As a certified Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) and Women Business Enterprise (WBE), I take pride in leading a brand that reflects inclusivity, purpose, and design excellence.
I invite you to explore Complex Flavors, where every pattern is rooted in storytelling, and every space becomes a canvas for connection, purpose, and joy.
